Dehradun Students Tackle Environmental Issues at Youth Parliament
Dehradun, Uttarakhand – On September 1, 2025, young leaders from Dehradun gathered at IT Park for a Youth Parliament event, providing a powerful platform for students to voice their opinions on critical environmental and social issues.


Organized by the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board (UKPCB) in partnership with the EIACP and NCAP Project, and in collaboration with the Eco Group Society, the event brought together delegates from three restigious local schools: GGIC, Him Jyoti School, and Saraswati Vidya Mandir. Each school was represented by three students, resulting in nine participants who showcased exceptional confidence, awareness, and debating skills.

The day’s program was inaugurated with the felicitation of several distinguished guests, including UKPCB’s Dr. Ankur Kansal and a team of environmental engineers, as well as Mr. Gaurav Bhasin from Nagar Nigam and representatives from the organizing partners. The dignitaries offered inspiring words, encouraging the young debaters to take an active role in shaping a better future.
Throughout the session, students engaged in constructive debate, demonstrating their deep concern for the environment and a strong desire to contribute to a sustainable future. Their passionate participation highlighted the importance of including youth in decision-making processes.
The UKPCB stressed the need to empower and nurture young minds, recognizing their potential to lead with responsibility and action. The event concluded with a shared vision of building a more sustainable future, guided by the awareness and leadership of the next generation.
