Transforming Dehradun Through Sustainable Waste Management
EcoGroup Society came into existence in the field of Waste Management in Dehradun in April 2017 and was registered in October 2020 under the Society Act No. 21, 1860. It is a ‘Non-profit’ entity of environmentally conscious individuals who wish to bring about change through thoughtful thinking and concrete action at the grassroots level to address the serious threats of deteriorating environment of Dehradun and climate change.
Our Impacts
We Successfully implemented waste management practices in Kewal Vihar Colony, leading to its recognition as the Best Clean Colony of Dehradun (2019) by Doon Smart City Limited (DSCL).
Helped Kewal Vihar win 3rd place in the Best Child-Friendly Society Competition (2020), with awards presented by Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi and the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
Appreciation and awards from Municipal Corporation Dehradun, HUDCO, Lions Club, UltraTech Cement, and educational institutions.
Through continuous environmental efforts, EcoGroup Society has contributed to Dehradun’s ranking improvement in India’s Smart Cities project, from 274th to 68th position in 2023.
